Prompt - Describe My Favorite Drink

Favorite drink? Non-alcoholic? Lol. Coffee because of its aroma and it is an added bonus that it wakes me up (before I go-go) and at this point in time, I try to stay away from Starbucks because it ain't cheap and it is basically sugar-in-a-cup, that stuff. I am continually in love with my three-in-one, yes, boring but faithful. And everyone should be in love with coffee, in my personal opinion. But that is just me. XOXO Marsha

Finding

I dont have a very close relationship with both my parents and siblings. It could be my fault or all our faults or none. You see, I am the eldest child and growing up, I have always felt that I was to pave my own way. My parents did not really have the time for me as there were many battles to be fought, financially and as a family. My mom had my brother and my dad had my sister. I was often left alone to tend to myself. Food was there and so was shelter and clothes. But I continued to believe that I have to pave my own way or find an alternative person or persons for 'affection' and 'love'. Hence, I found myself consistently looking outward for some kind of 'completion' of my soul. Little did I know that I was to find it within myself. I WAS already complete but this removal of bond between my family and I had led to people believing that I was selfish or just independent. But I was far from that. My confidence further crumbled when I was faced with dialoy...

The last post was 2013

Wow. It has been six years since I have posted anything on this blog. It is about time to blog on here again. Simple because sometimes it gets tiring to be so connected to everyone and everything all the time. I have long suspected that the best place for me to retire to is either in the mountains or somewhere quiet....like in the middle of the jungle. Lol Anyway, I am trying to find various other ways to explore my world but there is so much burden and too many things to be responsible for in everyday life. Just like the rest of you, I assume. Unless you are rich and famous and dont have a care in this world then, good for you. Otherwise, it is just us here, all trying to do our best not to sink but to float and find a shoreline.

Karma

I read something really interesting in a blog today....that there was a time in Bali that people didn't need to lock their doors because everyone, well, almost everyone, believes very strongly in the law of karma. If you stole from someone, it would be a negative mark on your own karma while it has no effect on the other person's quality of life. Losing something precious could affect someone's quality of LIVING but zero effect on someone's quality of life. The people back then (I don't know if it is still the same now) just went on living and improving the things and people around them. Honestly speaking, this really enlightened me because where I stay right now, security is such a huge issue. I don't even carry a bag anymore for fear of someone snatching it! Much less lock my doors at night. Indians and the people of Bali strongly believe in Karma, you see and this belief brings about a ray of hope, sense and acceptance. In believing in the law of Karma,...

ADV - Guided Meditation Download

Some people have problems going into meditation and I don't blame them. When I first started out with this thing, it irked me....which is not a good thing since we are trying to do the exact OPPOSITE! lol. So, I download a whole lot of MP3s to help guide me into meditation. And you know what? It sucks that Malaysians can't download from Amazon because there are so many out there! It's amazing. You've got ones for kids, for business people, for stressed out, for the sick, for elderly...everything! But meditation is a very universal kind of thing and most of the time, one meditation guide video works for everyone in general. Here's one for you, a great nature-based meditation video you might find useful. There's a QR Code if you want to hop over onto a mobile-friendly website. Click Here!

Look Mom, The Trees Are Dancing!!

We were rushing back from school, and then rushed to get showered, and then rushing to get to tuition when this happened. Rushing around is something I really abhor. I want to take my own sweet time to do my things, at my own pace. But such is the world that we are living in...most of the time, we can't escape it. But today, as we were rushing out of the house for tuition class, one my boys stopped me my tracks and said very loudly, 'Look, mom! The trees are dancing!' Such a simple statement but I thought we have a spare second to watch the dancing trees. It. Was. Awesome. I mean, we don't put enough time into our daily lives to do this, do we? To stop and watch. To stop and listen. To stop everything in our tracks and just be with the things around us. We are always struggling to get somewhere, some place, accomplish something, meet someone....endless! LOL But we have a choice. For me, I take refuge in my daily yoga practice whereby I have no other choice but t...

Ajahn Brahm: Letting Go

I've always thought that listening to Monks talk must be the most boring thing to do on this planet. On a bright sunny day, why do people sit around and listen to a man in robe talk??! Isn't there swimming to be done? Is there no work? Wow, you must be living a mighty fine life! That was before I found Ajahn Branhm, a profoundly famous monk. Not only is he gentle, makes a lot of sense but he is FARNIEEEE!! He even said the word 'bastards' in this video. LOL. Imagine that. His talks are not just for Buddhists, seriously. His talks is often about life, about people, about justice, about love, about happiness...hence, he is for EVERYONE. I challenge you to watch this video and not laugh at his prediction about Australia. Anyway, it's an incredibly useful talk about Letting Go. About how to find happiness by not hanging onto so many things from the past. It is, I'm sure, something that many of us can relate to. =) Happy Friday, everyone! Have a blessed weeke...
